Tonight, as I began reading my mail I discovered that today was the last day for a great sale over at Vision Forum. Remembering my love of the three-man sling-shot, which we purchased last year for our nephews, I decided to check it out. How thrilling to discover that the three-man sling-shot and a few other items were on sale for 50% off, plus they offered a flat rate of $5 for shipping through December 5th. Now there will be more nephews loving the three-man sling-shot!
As I finished placing my order, I seemed to recall that earlier in the week, when I had filled a prescription at CVS, my receipt offered $5 off a $15 purchase within the next three days. I dug out the receipt. At this point, it was 11:35 p.m. and I noticed that the offer expired December 5th.
Here is what I managed to snag:
I paid one penny, thanks to those Extra Care Bucks I earned on their Thanksgiving deals! Ya just gotta love CVS!

ONE PENNY?!
Wow, I have to think about checking out CVS. I usually get prescriptions filled at Walgreen's (because of the drive through pharmacy) or mail away.
Do you have to get prescriptions filled at CVS to make the deals worth it?
This IS a bit of a fish story, I guess, although every detail is true. CVS often offers items which will give you Extra Care Bucks back, making the item free. The one difficulty I worried with the numerous Thanksgiving sale deals was that I would end up forgetting to use the ECBs before they expired (they usually last about a month).
However, enthusiasm for deals did go a bit awry on this venture. I only realized it after I reviewed the receipt the next day. When I went in I intended to buy a $10 plastic dump truck which YS had begged for and some shampoo to bring my purchase up to $15, thereby making the dump truck only cost $5 with the prescription receipt deal. However, when I walked in, I saw a sign which I thought said, "Buy one toy get one 50% off."
The train was $15, so the $5 savings brought it down to $10. Then, I purchased the second toy - a magnet mania set marked $10, assuming I was getting it for $5. Alas, I must have misread. The Sunday ad revealed a buy 2 toys, get one free deal. Perhaps I misread it because I was trying to hustle my bargain and use the coupon in the 15 minutes before it expired.
Anyway, I'm wondering now if they will let me return the magnet toy and get my money back, since I paid primarily (all but 1 cent) with ECBs? We'll see.
They do offer some awesome deals. If you want to learn how to deal you can visit moneysavingmom.com. She has a tutorial and everything. I get most of my toiletries for free, plus sometimes they pay me to buy something, if I manage to have a coupon in addition to the ECBs.
