Kathy Bartalsky is no stranger to suffering and loss. Her story is one that will inspire you to trust in God's plans, even when they seem to make no sense. God is sovereign, and we find great peace when we rest in His wisdom. This is especially true when things feel wrong and hard. We must fight the desire to demand our own way. We must cling to the hem of the Master's robe and find our sustenance in Him. This honest account of trial and pain helped heal and soothe my own grief and pain. God has a plan for our lives and for our deaths. May both bring Him glory! We are seeing Trevor's death bring God glory, and all we can do is praise our Father for His grace and mercy demonstrated in and through our loss.

Book Review: Soaring on Broken Wings
I finished the two books I had used as supplemental reading during my devotions and headed upstairs to seek my shelves for other titles. This book, Soaring on Broken Wings, by Kathy Bartalsky, was one I purchased for 50 cents at a thrift store in DeKalb, IL, years ago. God knew exactly when I needed to read this book. Despite sitting on my shelves for years, it brought a message of comfort in my despair over the loss of my son, Trevor.
